What is the Alkaline Diet? How to Follow?

There are many ways to lose weight healthily. However, not every type of diet can end up with the same results for everyone, as everyone's metabolism is different. One of those ways recommended for weight loss that has recently become quite popular is the alkaline diet.

The alkaline diet is based on the principle of maintaining the body's acidity ratio in balance. An alkaline diet is a form of nutrition based on the stabilization of the pH level of fluids in the body. The diet is based on the idea that the acid-base balance of the body can change depending on the food consumed. In other words, the body pH value varies according to the nutrients consumed.

What is Alkaline Based Nutrition?

The alkaline diet aims to remove toxins accumulated in our bodies. It is aimed to re-take vitamins in the body, which are reduced due to a diet based on processed food. In the alkaline diet, it is important to avoid consuming meat, milk, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, processed foods, and to keep the body's pH value in balance by consuming more fresh fruits, vegetables, and dried fruits.

One should frequently consume small amounts of food in the alkaline diet. The alkaline diet is recommended by specialists not only for weight loss but also for the prevention of certain diseases. The alkaline diet has positive effects such as supporting the digestive system, keeping the body's fat ratio in balance, reducing inflammation in the body, maintaining bone health, strengthening the immune system, etc.

The alkaline diet can be considered a form of nutrition, rather than a form of diet. The main thing is to stay away from foods that are harmful to the body. By consuming natural foods, you can both healthily lose weight and stay healthy. Flour, sugar, trans fat, and packaged products are not included in the alkaline diet. Since unnecessary and acidic foods are not consumed, the body does not store fat and does not get tired frequently due to unhealthy foods.

Foods Consumed in Alkaline Diet

The alkaline diet consists mainly of vegetables and healthy foods. Healthy foods and spices such as broccoli, ginger, kale, okra, zucchini, artichokes, arugula, beets, arugula, cucumber, basil, avocado, green beans, dry beans, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, garlic, red cabbage, radishes, asparagus, coconut, leek, chia seeds, almonds, almond milk, celery, peas, Brussels sprouts, tomato, spinach, olive oil, lentils are a consumed in the alkaline diet.
